Ewell and Egbunine win by TKO
by Sue TL Fox
August 14, 2005

(AUG 14) Last night at the LJVM Annex in Winston Salem, North Carolina, WBE Light Heavyweight world champion Carlette “The Truth” Ewell,  now 10-3-0 (7KO),  fought newcomer Tristen Jones, who sported a 0-1-0 record going into the fight. Jones was stopped in the first round. Chalk up another “world champion” fighting a boxer they have no business fighting. Carlette needs to face “The Truth” that this was nothing more than a mismatch. Shame on whoever made this match.

On October 22, 2005, Ewell will be fighting for a "world title" in the super-middleweight division. Yep…she goes from fighting a 0-1-0 boxer to fighting for a world title. Wow…WBAN is impressed.

But wait....didn't Ewell fight a 0-1-0 boxer for the world title?
Well according to BoxRec.com, she most certainly did. Ewell took on Ramon Crim for the World title on April 16, 2005. Crim's first loss came by.....ah....you guessed it---Ewell.  Crim is now 0-2-0, all by way of Ewell.

In the co-main event, Ljeoma Egbunine of South Africa won by a seventh round TKO over Alexandria Malloy to win the vacant WBE Middleweight title. A boxing insider told WBAN that this fight was an "all out war" and was an excellent bout.

Bonnie Mann, the WBE Middleweight champion, made her announcement last night that she was retiring from boxing.juujuu98
