(SEPT 1) Her match
with Kwang Ok Kim for the WBC bantamweight title, originally scheduled
for the 20th September in South Korea, may have been postponed until
October, but Jazmín Rivas is determined to keep busy.
On Friday, the teenager will be stepping
into the ring at the Centro de Espectáculos Modelo de Obregón, Sonora,
for a warm-up fight over 6 rounds with Leticia Arévalo of Jalisco.
Rivas, who has been training at the Centro Ceremonial Otomí under the
eye of Erik "Terrible" Morales, missed Wednesday’s press conference due
to heavy rain at the airport.
She and Arévalo have fought before. On the last occasion, the youngster
won comfortably and it was the courage rather than the talent of her
opponent that was most in evidence. This time, she will be looking to go
one better and knock her out.
