(NOV 22) WBAN
received a response from Milan
Lubovac, Jelena Mrdjenovich's trainer, manager and promoter, in
regards to comments originally made by
Layla McCarter.
In that response to
McCarter, Milan said, "I understand that you want a rematch with her,
once you have recovered from your injury, but I have to ask, where is
the proof that you were injured in the first place? Post some documents,
and maybe I will believe you."
McCarter has responded to that request for documentation, and sent
photos: McCarter also wrote a response:
Mr. Milan: Although you are
having some serious delusions right now, I feel obligated to
straighten you out on a couple of things. First off, here is the
proof of my injury you requested even though my word is as good
as gold. I don't "puff smoke" like some people I know. |
|
Second, I know you take offense
to every one's comments about Jelena. I don't blame you because
the truth hurts, right? I don't need to defend my position in
women's' boxing. |
|
Many people who actually know
something about boxing can tell you. I may not have held two
belts at the same time (from the same fight), but I held two
belts in two very different weight classes (from two separate
title fights). |
|
You can argue and put myself,
Chevelle, Belinda, and every one else below Jelena, but the
truth is stronger that the B.S. coming from you.
I, like many other women, were not fortunate enough to be born
into a family with money and immediate support. I fought
everyone in their hometown because I didn't have a setup like
Jelena. Looking back, I wouldn't want it. |
|
There is no glory
in beating bums and never standing on one's own two feet. I am proud of
everything that made me who I am today including my unimpressive record.
I earned it. It may not scare you, so why don't we make the third fight
immediately. As I recall, I beat Mrdjenovich fair and square the first
time, unless you are presumptuous enough to think that she was ripped
off in her own hometown.
Milan, I am making you in offer for everyone to see. If you try to
squirm out with lame excuses, everyone here can see right through you.
You pick the month, January or February...$5,000, all expenses,
medicals, fees, etc., for Jelena and three airline tickets to Nevada.
This is generous, considering you gave me $2,500 for the first
six-rounder and $3,700 for the eight-round pay-per-view rematch. We have
the casino, television and crowd...(some people consider talent to be
more valuable than inaccurate propaganda). I think it would be fair to
ask you to come here since I went to Jelena's backyard twice. You may
not feel that you have anything to prove with me, but many people,
including your fellow Canadians feel differently.
It doesn't "kill me" that a Canadian holds two titles. It kills me that
the one who holds them isn't worthy. I love Canada and the people there,
but I am damn proud to be an American. I will be grateful to fight here
and happy to host Team Mrdjenovich with the same courtesy we were shown
in Canada. Accept the fight Milan, and stop talking. "Put up or shut
up." You know Luis #, but I don't think you have the guts to commit.
