(JUNE 19) Yesterday, on June 18th, at
Remington Park, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Stephanie Dobbs
and Deidre Hamaguchi fought to an eight round majority
draw. The two were fighting for the vacant WIBA Intercontinental
Mini Flyweight title. The fight took place in the afternoon,
outside in the blistering heat and humidity. This did not
hamper the non-stop action of these two. This was their third match
fighting each other. Judges scores, one judge giving Dobbs
78-74, and the other two scoring it 76-76.
Goodson told WBAN that the fight was very competitive with both
boxers going back and forth, and that the fight could be a contender
for "Fight of the year." Goodson added, "It was a great
fight."
