(AUG 10) On September 22, at Southport Sharks,
in Southport, Gold Coast, QLD, Australia, Sharon Anyos will be
defending her WBC featherweight title. Anyos was originally
supposed to fight Fatuma Zarika (Njeri), but according
to Team Anyos, she has pulled out of the WBC Defence with Anyos,
claiming to have a sore hand.
Team Anyos told WBAN, "After much confusion with the South African's
we immediately searched for a new opponent. Team Anyos put an offer
out to all camp's that we had contact details for which included
Rhonda Luna, Jerri Sitzes, Esther Schouten. The only response we had
was from Esther Schouten."
"This to Team Anyos was a good choice considering Esther met Missy
Fiorentino last Novemeber and Missy is Sharon's mandatory defence
with negotiations planning to commence after the bout with Schouten.
Sharon will now defend her WBC Featherweight Title against Esther
Schouten," added Team Anyos.
