Rock & Sock Productions announced
yesterday the co-promotion of "A Ring Of Their Own: The Border War"
in conjunction with KO Promotions of Edmonton, Canada. The 3 women's
world title fight card will be on November 4th in Edmonton,
Canada, at The Shaw Conference Center.
It will telecast in the United States,
on iN DEMAND Pay Per View beginning November 17th. The show will
also be telecast on pay per view in Canada on a delayed basis.
The theme of the program will be The
United States vs. Canada. This tripleheader features Edmonton's WBC
Super Featherweight champion
Jelena
Mrdjenovich
(18-1-0) title in her toughest test to date against reigning WBC
Lightweight Champion
Eliza Olson
(10-5-3) of San Francisco. They will be fighting for Jelena's belt.
Jeannine Garside
(5-0-1) of Windsor, Ontario, the WIBA Super Bantamweight Champion,
will vacate that belt to challenge former world champion
Laura Serrano
(16-2-2), of Las Vegas for the WIBA Featherweight Championship, and
former WIBA super bantamweight champion
Lisa
Brown
(12-2-3) of Toronto
will attempt to regain the vacant title at super bantamweight
against undefeated
Melissa Hernandez
(5-0-1) of the Bronx.
In addition Rock & Sock is pleased to announce a fund raising and
awareness effort to help fight breast cancer along with The Breast
Cancer Research Foundation and Everlast.
On the night of November 4th, all women fighters will don pink
gloves to help promote breast cancer awareness. In addition, other
avenues will be used leading up to the event and in the PPV
broadcast to help raise funds to assist in helping cure breast
cancer. "It's great to be able to promote an incredible group of
matches and help out BCR at the same time," said Rock & Sock's Arnie
"Tokyo" Rosenthal. Ken Weiss, also of Rock & Sock said, "We hope the
entire women's boxing fan base gets behind the BCR effort and helps
out while enjoying a great night of boxing." "We'd like to thank

stimulate awareness and help raise funds for breast cancer
