They never fought as amateurs. Nijhof won National titles in 2003 and 2004. West, always felt Stella was avoiding her...until now! 4-0, 19 year old Kaliesha West faces her greatest challenge as pro, as does Nijhof when they collide is a 6 round bantamweight brawl in Downtown Monterey, Saturday, November 18th.

This featured women's bout on the six fight RIOT "Collision at the Conference Center" card promises to be close, competitive, action packed and meaningful to the sport of women's boxing. "They've wanted to fight each other for years in the amateurs, now it gets to happen for them as pros" says promoter Jerry Hoffman.

After a stellar amateur career, Stella just decided to turn pro a few months ago. The problem has always been finding willing opponents. In her most recent fight, Nijhof had to fight out of her weight class or not at all. Both girls are at their best at 118 pounds, and that's the contract weight. West thrilled THE RIOT fans in July with a masterful win over Maria Contreras, but she'll need to do more against the vastly more experienced fighter in Nijhof who was at the top of the bantamweight division before turning pro.

Headlining the popular boxing series promoted by 12 Sports Productions is Salinas' Jesus "Chuy" Rodriguez (11-2) in the main event vs. TBA. Navy serviceman Keith Spencer of Oxnard makes his pro debut vs. veteran Shawn Ross in a Heavyweight battle, plus 3 other matches.

The elegant Serra Ballroom at the Monterey Conference Center is the venue. First bout is 7:30pm, Saturday Nov. 18th. Pre and post fight parties are scheduled at the beautiful Portola Plaza Hotel, adjacent to the Conference Center in Downtown Monterey.

Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward of Oakland, and IBF Featherweight World Champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero of Gilroy Ca., will be special guests, and available to take pictures with, and sign autographs for THE RIOT boxing fans before and after the show at the various parties.
