(OCT 31) Olga Bojare of Latvia travelled to the EWE
Arena in Fürstenwalde (Brandenburg) last week and flung herself at
Großziethen’s
Ramona Kühne the way a wave flings itself at a rock; but the style
that had brought spectators to their feet in Riga when she fought
Irina Peliha on the 10th September and those in the EWE
Arena, too, three solid minutes of frenetic action, provided a cruel
spectacle in the end, when the furious pace of her assault proved
unsustainable, and the smarter, fitter German girl trapped her in a
corner and beat her senseless.
So Bojare, who once gave away 7 kilos to ex European
amateur champion Karolina Lukasik and went the distance, came
spectacularly unstuck this time : when referee Andreas Schweiger
threw himself between them, 19 seconds from the end of the second
round, the Latvian was out on her feet after a succession of jarring
blows to the head and incapable of offering any further resistance.
Next up for Kühne, who is now 5 and 0 after her
second straight stoppage, is Dorota Kosatka of Poland, whom she will
meet in the Sportforum Oderstrasse in the Berlin suburb of Neukölln
on the 11th November. In just under two weeks, then.
