(MAR 18) Last night at the Companhia
Athletica Brooklin, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, junior welterweight
Duda Yankovich, 137, of Brazil, successfully defended her
WIBA title against United States Belinda Laracuente, 136¼, by
a 10-round unanimous decision. The final judges scores were 98-95,
97-94, and 98-95.
In an eight round bout, super Bantamweight Simone Da Silva
Duarte,121½, TKO’d Patricia Alejandra Quirico, 122,
Argentina, in the sixth round. The two were fighting for a WIBA
South American super bantaimweight title.
In another eight round bout for a local Brazilian title, Adriana
Salles, 120½, won a split decision over Renata Ferreira,
117¼. Final judges scores 77-76, 78-77, 76-77.
Lastly, In a four-rounder, Caroline Teixeira, 135¼, won a
four-round unanimous decision over Patricia Cristina Da Silva.
Final judges scores were 40-36 on all cards.
