(MAY 15) On June 9, 2007, Mariem
Punchenella Brakache, 4-5-0 (1 KOs), who fights out of Atlanta,
Georgia, will be facing Tricia Turton, 8-3-0 (3 KOs), of Seattle, in
Seattle, Washington. The fight will be a six-rounder.
Brakache stated, "This is not the fight that I want but is a
stepping stone to my goal”.
"Winning this bout will leave the Trinidad promoter Mr. Boxu Potts
no pardon but to set a rematch date on the rematch clause vs
Giselle Salandy for the five world titles in one night. I have been
waiting for some one to fight me since December 2006" added Brakache.
In Brakache's fight with Salandy last December, she lost by a
unanimous decision in Trinidad. The Moroccan-born Brakache (U.S.Citizen)
had won fans with her relentless punching style and at the end of
the fight, both fighters congratulated each other while Salandy
promised Brakache a rematch.
