German TV station ProSieben
continues its Fight Night series with an eight-bout fight card in
Düsseldorf on Friday 7th September. The followers of women's boxing
will be pleased by the news, that no less than 4 of the bouts are
featuring female boxers, including the main event.
Kentikian (17-0-0), who has become increasingly popular with the the
German TV audience since her first appearance on Fight Night in
February this year, will be making her 3rd WBA title defence against
Shanee Martin (8-3-0) of England. Martin's last fight was a GBU
Title fight in Hungary against Victoria Milo, where she lost by a
controversial split decision.
It looks like another tough fight for Kentikian, who had to work
hard in her last fight against Nadia Hockmi of France.
Kentikian, who will be celebrating her 20th birthday 4 days after
the fight, told WBAN that she is very much looking forward to get
back into the ring after the summer break. She has spent the last
weeks in a training camp in Frankfurt /Oder, and is happy with the
progress she has made during her stay there.
WIBF Super Welterweight title holder Karolina Lukasik (7-0-0) will
be facing Argentinian Gabriela Marcela Zapata (6-2-0) in a second
World Titel Fight. The fight will also be for the vacant GBU Title,
and an elminator for a WBC Title Fight.
Karolina Lukasik's boxing career started as an amateur in her native
Poland, where she won more national championships and she ended her
amateur career as reigning European Champion before signing up with
Spotlight Boxing. Despite her very good results in the pro ring, she
has had very little attention from the German Press so far - much
less than she deserve. It will be very interesting to be able to
watch this very talented southpaw in her first TV appearance.
The two remaining women's bouts will feature Flyweight Rebekka
Hermann (9-1-0) against Maria Kriwoschapkina (0-1-0) of Russia, and
the newly signed Magdalena Dahlen (5-0-0) will face Eva Liskova
(5-3-1) of the Czech Republic.
The fight night will air on ProSieben on 7th September at 10:30 pm
CET. There will also be a chance to watch Susianna Kentikian as a
talk show guest on the TV Total show on Wednesday 5th September at
11:10 pm on the same channel.
