(SEPT 17) On September 15,
2007, in Lofberg Arena, Karlstad, Sweden, middleweight
Åsa Sandell, 158¾, of Sweden, had a six-round
draw with Teresa Perozzi, 156½, of Bermuda. Final judges
scores were 57-57, 57-57, and 58-57. The two were fighting for the
World Boxing Empire Middleweight Title. (In a six-round
bout?)
WBAN has received further information
that a couple of news reports in Sweden, have said that it was a
hometown decision.
In one Swedish paper, they make no bones about it, and state that if
the fight had taken place in Bermuda, in the United States, or for
that matter on the moon, Sandell would have lost the fight.

The newspaper Åsa Sandell works for as journalist, the HELSINGBORG
DAGBLAD, was a little more diplomatic. They wrote "Many thought it
was a clear home town decision".
