(SEPT 21) A well-deserved honor
will be given to
Margaret Sidoroff
(aka: Canty), when
she is inducted in the Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame. In
the Windsor Star News, she told them, "I was in such shock they
thought I'd got terrible news on the phone.” She added, "I just
wasn't expecting that. It's such a wonderful thing.”
Sidoroff was one of the most accomplished women boxers in the sport
when she retired as a world champion and undefeated in the
year 2000. This year's induction ceremony is Oct. 13 at the Caboto
Club.
