Malpartida to fight on Ballroom Show
September 25, 2007

(SEPT 25)  On September 27th, at the Irvine Marriott, in Irvine, California,  fans will get to see two exciting bantamweights, a female warrior coming off a big win, and a young amateur star hoping to take his greatness to a new level.

In the featured six round bout of the night, two very exciting bantamweights will mix it up, and it should be a dandy. Daniel Quevedo out of Los Angeles will bring his 6-6 record with four KO’s into the ring to face tough Jose Luis Cardenas from Santa Ana. Cardenas who is trained by Jesse Ochoa is 6-7 with three knockouts.

In the co feature on September 27th, Kina Malpartida, the Peruvian surfing champion turned boxer, will be back in action after here great win over Crystal Morales on the July Marriott show. Kina, at 7-1 will certainly be stepping up a level as she will meet San Antonio’s Elizabeth Villarreal. Villarreal, at 4-2 also has a win over Morales, and is trained by legend Tony Ayala Sr.

In his pro debut, it will be one of the top amateurs to come out of Southern California in years. Maywood’s Charles Huerta will step into the Marriott ring for the first time as a professional, after an amateur that saw him win 60 amateur fights and nearly 10 national and regional titles. He will face Houston’s 0-1 Yoshi Momoki in a junior lightweight bout.

Rounding out the five bout card will be welterweights Daniel Castillo 1-1 meeting Stockton’s Everado Lopez 2-2, and in a rematch of a majority draw last Tuesday in Fresno, Richmond’s 1-0 Mike Alexander and LA’s Heriberto Cruz 1-3 will do it one more time.
