(MAY 20) Returning to her roots,
featherweight Melinda Cooper (18-0) has realigned herself with the
Underground Boxing Company and their management- training team in
preparation for her upcoming June 12th bout against Donna Biggers
(19-7-1).
Regarding her brief layoff, Cooper
simply explains, "I just needed some time away from the sport to
establish a life outside of boxing. I have been boxing since I was
eleven years old, pretty much non-stop, and a little time away has
been exactly what I needed. I feel better than ever!"
Cooper-Biggers will fight at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville,
Connecticut on June 12th.
"It's just been a little over a year since she fought last", states
her long-time trainer James Pena. "It's not a comeback, he
continues, it's a statement that she's still here!"
