(JUNE 24) WBAN has received a response
letter from Ron Brand, manager of Hollie Dunaway,
in regards to an open letter from
Team Rodriguez. Brand said the following:
Finally, we hear from someone from the
Rodriguez camp. We will see more tremendous fight cards like we saw
at Finally in New Mexico. Every journalist, TV station, radio and
Internet group is very much appreciated, and I applaud all that put
100's of hours into the card as I did. Some people call it putting
your heart into something. I believe in every fighter on the card
and they flat got it done! Honor goes to the fighter in the ring.
The reason the
commentators were supporting Hollie Dunaway is that she won the
fight.
See the
WBAN article early last week.
The only shock was the resounding support for Hollie. Wendy you
didn't win. Al Bernstein and Arnie Rosenthal concurred that Hollie
won.
Spin stops here.
Top promoters and pro fighters deep within the sport support that
Hollie won at least 7 rounds to 3.
I've seen that
score several times now. I've worked from day one to bring a summary
of professional opinions on the fight to forums, etc., and they all
have responded with support that Hollie was robbed. That is the
honest truth.
Marcus I'm glad
your not taking anything away from Hollie as she has earned every
credit that she has in the sport from day one.
Hollie won the
fight and she has a majority of boxing professionals backing us on
that.
The KO bonus was in
place as an opportunity for each fighter to earn a bonus, and in
this case a local charity benefited as the bonus went to charity.
With the support I've had this week your feeling of Hollie being
Rock star status may be correct. The fighters on the Finally card
were and are bigger than life. The promoter, sanctioning bodies
concurred that they liked the idea. There was a size-able cash wager
on the main even too between Holy Holm vs Mary Jo Sanders. It was
very cool to actually see odds at the casino, oh and on that Hollie
had a clear 2 to 1 margin to win.
Hollie Dunaway vs.
Wendy Rodriguez is a great fight on any night, any card. We look
forward to the trilogy. We have unfinished business. Ron Brand, Mgr
