(JULY 13) On Friday at the Club
Defensores de Villa Lujan, in Tucuman, Argentina, after nearly one
year of inactivity Alejandra Oliveras returned to the ring and won
an eight-round unanimous decision over Maria del Carmen Montiel.
According to the MDZ Online, they reported that Oliveras was none
too impressive on her return to the ring. They stated that Montiel
dominated various phases of the fight and had her down in the 4th.
At the end, Oliveras asked for the microphone and tried to explain
that despite the knockdown she was superior to Montiel but was
unable to make herself heard above the booing and whistling.
