(NOV 22) On Thursday night, in front of
3,453 boxing fans, at the American Metal & Iron Fight Night at the
Tank, at the HP Pavilion, in San Jose, California, there will be two
women’s bouts on the undercard.
In one bout, junior welterweight Chika Nakamura, 137, won a
six-round bout by unanimous decision over Tiffany Junot, 136 ¼. In
the second bout, flyweight Melissa McMorrow, 106, won a unanimous
decision in a four-rounder over pro debuter Gloria Salas, 103 ¾.
An interesting quote from the Examiner.com, from this fight card
said, “The main event was overshadowed by the two women’s matches on
the seven-bout card.
Although Junot landed impressive combinations
in every round and won two of them, Nakamura was the sharper
puncher, was busier and carried the fight. In the opener, McMorrow’s
left hooks were the difference as Salas retained her polish
admirably throughout the fight.”
