(NOV 29) Susie 'Q' Ramadan (54.40kgs) won the OPBF's super bantamweight title in a ten round unanimous decision in Melbourne on Friday night (November 28) against New Zealand-based Manchester-born world kickboxing champion Michelle Preston (53.20kgs).

Two judges scored the fight 98-92 and the other judge 96-94 in favor of the Australian champion.

Both women came into the fight undefeated, Ramadan with 4 KO's in her 6-fight record and Preston with 3 wins in boxing on top of 28 wins from 35 Thai Boxing fights that included capturing the world title in Manchester this year.

Ramadan, the shorter of the two used her polished in-and-out style to land her combinations and evade Preston's counters with slick footwork. Preston looked the stronger of the two in early rounds and showed to be a more than
capable boxer despite crossing over from kickboxing. But by mid fight Ramadan had robbed her opponent of confidence and her once dangerous straight punches became sloppy.

Preston was increasingly being tagged by multiple Ramadan combinations as the fight progressed.

Both fighters declared their ambitions were to eventually win world titles.  But now Ramadan looks to be closer to that goal while Preston will have to revise her strategy.
