(DEC 21) WBAN has been in contact
this week with Vaia Zaganas, and received a latest update on what
she has been doing since not boxing professionally since 2004.
[Zaganas is a former strawweight IFBA World Champion, who also had
an extremely successful amateur boxing career]
Zaganas told WBAN, “I moved back to my hometown Vancouver, BC four
months ago after living in Las Vegas for 8 years. I've been teaching
boxing and I just started my own club, Sparta Boxing and Fitness. I
chose that name to honour my Greek heritage and because we train
like the Spartan Army (laugh)! We're officially starting classes in
January and my website is www.spartaboxing.com. It still needs some
work, but it is mostly done. Other than that, I've been taking a lot
of business courses and taking courses to get my fitness trainer
certification. I've been practicing Brazilian Jiujitsu to stay in
shape.”
