(JAN 11) European Champion Rola El-Halabi,
of Ulm, was in Magdeburg December 9-28, where she had the
opportunity to spar with Esther Schouten from Holland. The former
World Champion Schouten made intensive preparation for her World
Championship fight against Ina Menzer. Rola had a busy two weeks in
hard sparring, to tune Shouten for the fight against Menzer. Shouten
and Menzer will be fighting on January 17th. Rola will be at
ringside in Düsseldorf to support her sparring counterpart.
Rola said in a press release, "It was
great to train with Esther, at last I was able to compare myself
against a world class fighter, and have again obtained proof, that I
can fulfill my dream of a World Title Belt, by training hard,
discipline, and diligence.”
Rola also received some sound advice
from Shouten's trainer Dirk Dzemski and Regina Halmich's successful
trainer Torsten Schmitz.
Rola has a full scheduled planned in 2009. Her main goal in 2009 to
fight for a World Champion Belt, and to fight against Ramona Kühne
from Berlin.
