Another Boxer Killed in Car Accident this Month:  Ludumo Galada just 26 years old
January 12, 2009

(JAN 12, 2009) Yesterday in Aliwal North, world featherweight boxing champion, Mdantsane-born Ludumo Galada, 26 years old, was killed in a car accident. Galada was driving a Toyota Tazz, and was traveling from Johannesburg when the accident took place.

The local news sources said that as of now the details of the accident are sketchy as family members were too distraught to speak to the media.

Galada, 13-0-0, was set to fight one of his biggest fights to date, on January 23rd, at the Orient Theatre, in East London, where he was scheduled to fight Takalani Ndlovu in a WBF featherweight title bout.

This news comes only days after the death of 21-year-old Giselle Salandy, a female champion from Trinidad, who died from injuries she suffered in a crash on the outskirts of Port-of-Spain.
