(FEB 14) Boxing fans will have an
opportunity to see if the much less experienced boxer, Brooke
Dierdorff, now 4-4-1 (3KO), defeated Mia “The Knockout” St. Johns in
their first encounter by a fluke---or will we see Dierdorff beat St.
John a second time?
The two fought on April 20, 2007, when Dierdorff pulled off an upset
by defeating the longtime veteran by a six-round split decision. St.
John went into that fight with over 50 fights on her resume.
St. John is set to rematch Dierdorff
on April 4, 2009, in the Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico. St.
John will be defending her WBC International Lightweight Female
title.
Dierdorff has fought some very heavy artillery in her last four
fights---losing all of those bouts to Jennifer Barber, Ela Nunez,
Alicia Ashley, and Jeannine Garside.
This fight would be much better received by the boxing community, if
it was a non-title bout, due to those above mentioned recent losses
that Dierdorff incurred. Boxing fans wasted little time contacting
WBAN with negative comments about this fight being up for a title.
