Fight Turned from Draw to Decision?
May 16, 2009

(MAY 16) This week WBAN received a letter from boxer, Kristine Shergold, in regards to her fight that she had against Suzanne Hemsley on May 10, 2009, at the Heritage Hotel, in Derby.  According to Shergold tgardepondshyardhe fight was first called a draw---and later after the event, changed to a decision in her opponent's favor. Shergold was fighting in Hemsley's home ground.

The fight between Shergold and Hemsley was scheduled for six rounds, and scored and judged at 58-58 by referee Robert Chalmers, AND at THAT time of the fight, both fighters hands were raised at the end of contest, and again a second time when the master of ceremonies announced the scores, according to Shergold.

Shergold told WBAN, "When I spoke to the general secretary Robert Smith on Tuesday (after the event) at lunch time all he would say was that it had come to their attention that the referee had miscalculated his scorecards and she (Hemsley) was a point ahead.

Shergold added, "I have written a letter of complaint /appeal."

Shergold questions, "there were officials at the show, so why wasn't this noticed then and there?"
