(MAY 18) On May 14, 2009, at
the Irvine Hyatt Regency Hotel, in Irvine, California, Lil' warrior
Melissa McMorrow went right back into the ring after having a fight
earlier in the month against Jolene Blackshear. McMorrow won the
short-notice fight by a six-round majority decision over Suszannah
Warner. The fight was on a Roy Englebrecht Promotional card.
The original fight was supposed
to be a rematch between Warner and Julie Rubalcava, according to
Team McMorrow. The two fought at a contract weight of 108
lbs.
The six-rounder was for a local championship belt (NAIOP). The
judges scores were 57-57 56-58, 56-58.
