(APR 25) Luis Tapia, the manager of
"Amazing" Layla McCarter contacted the promoter of Melissa
Hernandez' May 7th fight and challenged Hernandez to "put up or shut
up!" Tapia said the promoter seemed very interested in having
McCarter replace Hernandez' opponent who had pulled out of the fight
earlier this week but said he needed to speak with Melissa about it
and would call Tapia back.
In a recent facebook
article [Press Release] by Amy Green, Melissa Hernandez said, "I'll fight
anyone, I mean anyone, from 122-140." "I don't listen to
what all fake rankings say,” she said. “I'm the pound for pound
queen. If any female feels different about it please do me the
favor and fight me. I am womyns boxing.” (Not a mis-spelling
on WBAN for Women's)
Layla McCarter has something to say: “May 7th, Foxwoods Resort
CT, 10 rounds, 135lbs. Forget belts, this is about pride. You
claim to be the pound-4-pound best, with all of 15 fights. I’m
going to do you a favor and give you a chance to back up all
that big talk. I stopped you in our first fight, you won by
majority decision in our second. I know you would rather beat
Ela Nunez again, but you should fight me. The promoter is ready
and I am ready. Are you ready?”
