(JULY 9) WBAN has recently learned
that Bermuda's 36-year old Teresa Perozzi, 6-3-1 (1 KOs), will be
returning to the ring after an over two year layoff. Perozzi last
fought on March 15, 2008, in Germany, against Natascha Ragosina,
where they fought and lost by a unanimous decision for a
multi-unification of world title belts in a 10-rounder.
In what was reported to us,
Perozzi is set to fight Florida's Cimberly Harris at Berkeley
Institute Gymnasium this month on July 24th, in a six-round
bout.
In the Royal Gazette, Perozzi said, "I must be looking
forward to it because I agreed to it [the fight]. It's
been a while so I'm more nervous than I am usually this far
ahead of a fight. My last few fights have been pretty big deals
so I've spent the money on bringing a trainer here, or to go
away to a camp but I've not been able to do that this time. I
don't want to say I'm not getting good training but it's not at
the same intensity that I'm used to."
Harris, last fought on August 1, 2009, when she took on Christy
Martin in a six-rounder and lost by a split decision.
