South Korea: The Good and the Bad News
March 29, 2011

(MAR 29) On Saturday night, at the Gymnasium, in Jinju City, South Korea, Hyo-Min Kim, 130, won by TKO over  female boxer Saicon Taichio, now 0-2-0,  for the "Interim" WBA super featherweight world title.

The good news is that the Referee stopped the fight in the fourth round---the bad news is that the two were fighting for a world title---which from viewing the video footage of this fight on You Tube, this fight did not measure up to that level in the sport.

Now with that said-----IF Kim and Taichio had been fighting a non-title fight that was a four-rounder or six-rounder, it would have probably been considered a middle-of-the-road bout. Kim did display some interesting skills---but she was much too skillful for Taichio, who had even turned her back slightly in an amateurish fashion in the third round, when Kim was putting the pressure on her with a barrage of combinations.
