(JULY 25) On July 23rd, WBAN
requested assistance from the public to have a document that was
presented to us translated that was written in Chinese. The
document was a boxing record of boxer Sun Qun Yan, a boxer from
China.
We would like to thank Eddie
Montalvo for having the document translated for WBAN, and the
others who stepped up to translate the document. WBAN
would also like to thank the IFBA for sending us Yan's boxing
record from China.
After having the boxing record
translated, we attempted to find information on Sun Qun Yan's
opponents, but were unable to find anything.
We are asking anyone that has knowledge of the below listed
female boxers listed from China who fought Yan, to contact
us with more details about these boxers.
We also noticed that Yan is listed as 19 years old, and her
boxing record goes back to her fighting professionally at the
age of 14.
WBAN would like to know if this
is a known practice in China that female boxers are fighting at
the tender age of 14 as a pro? And...any other
details of female boxing in China so that we can better
understand the sport in this area.
