The Egbunine - O'neil is a huge event in Nigeria where Ijeoma
Egbunine stands as the only Nigerian female ever to win a world
championship. It shall be viewed by the president and several
other dignitaries.
"As chairman for women's boxing, I can say that we at CODA are
very excited about this fight. CODA championship fights must
meet a demanding criteria to become sanctioned for women
fighters, and only the top fighters are given the opportunity to
fight for these, the most dignified of world titles. Egbunine -
O'Neil is the very best fight that could happen for the women's
heavyweight division, and we hope it will bring these and some
other very good heavyweight female fighters back into the
limelight. It will be with great honor we will belt our new
champion."
