Boxers Supporting Boxers

(NOV 24) I wanted to write a special report and give recognition to the female boxers who not only were on the boxing card at the Texas Station Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 20th,  but also to the many, MANY other female boxers who came and attended the event to support the "featured" women boxers who were on the card.

First I would like to credit the following women boxers past and present who attended the event:

(left/rear) Layla McCarter, Ava knight, behind Melissa Hernandez, back center, Michael McCullum, Center front in red skirt, Kaliesha West, Right, Laura Serrano with her son.

(Left, Sharon Gaines, Right, Mandy LaPoint)

(Left, Yvonne Caples, Right, Laura Serrano)

Melissa Hernandez (with Reile)
Yvonne Caples
Kaliesha West
Ava Knight
Laura Serrano
Sharon Gaines
Mandy LaPointe

Secondly, I would like to give respect and credit to the female boxers who took on tough opponents on this card, and made it so exciting for boxing fans as no one could predict the outcome of any of these fights before they entered the ring.

Ada Velez vs. Melinda Cooper
What a war of a fight and one of the best on the card.

Dahiana Santana vs. Stacey Reile
This was actually one of the best, if not the best on the card. The crowd loved this fight, and Reile and Santana put on quite a show, and the boxing fans loved this fight.

TaTina Anderson vs. Victoria Cisneros
An action-packed fight from beginning until the end when this pint-size boxer Anderson stopped Cisneros in the first pro fight in her boxing career.

These women are the new generation of women's' boxing. They "Get it". They have a high level of understanding that being an "Island" in the sport and having the "me" approach as a fighter, is not going to cut it and that networking with other female boxers, and events, and I will have to say networking with WBAN, is going to help make the sport stronger.

I had a great time meeting up with these female fighters----and the camaraderie was so impressive between the women fighting and not fighting on this card, that it made it one of the most enjoyable cards I have covered in a very long time.
