(JAN 23) Yesterday a press conference was held with the WBC, and there were two female boxers attending the event.  According to the WBC online website, Alejandra “Locomotora” Oliveras (28-2-2, 15 KO’s) from Santa Fe, Argentina visited the WBC offices to express her desire to fight for the WBC featherweight female title.

"I came to Mexico to ask for a fight against the WBC featherweight champion, I’m sure I can defeat any boxer from three divisions above” Oliveras said.

WBC President Jose Sulaiman promised her that she will fight an eliminatory fight, probably against Germany's Ina Menzer (30-1-0, 11 KO’s).  The current WBC champion is Puerto Rican Melissa Hernandez (18-3-3, 6 KO’s).

Oliveras also spoke to Sulaiman about female boxers purses.  She said, "In female boxing, money is a great problem, I’m a three-time world champion and I can’t afford to buy a house of my own. I hope things can change in this sport. I want to thank Don Jose Sulaiman for always looking out for boxing, and the fighters. I was once a WBC champion and I want to be again."

Also in attendance at the press conference, was a new female boxer on the scene, Angélica “Maravilla” Domínguez.  Dominguez expressed her interest in fighting for the WBC one day, and being a champion.
