(FEB 3) Last night at the
Cedarbridge Academy Gymnasium, in Pembroke, Bermuda, in a
rematch for the two, Teresa Perozzi, 158.5, and Tori
Nelson, 158.5 had yet another draw [split this time around]
after fighting 10-rounds of action in front of over 2,000 boxing
fans. The two were again fighting for the WBC World
Middleweight Title---the belt remains vacant.
The Judges' Scores: Jack Woodburn (Canada) 97-44 Nelson; William
Boodhoo (Canada) 96-95 Perozzi; and Julie Lederman (USA) 95-95
Draw.
In the first two rounds, the fight was uneventful, but the fight
exploded in Round three when Nelson floored Perozzi with a
vicious right to the chin. Perozzi beat the count and
immediately floored Nelson with a ferocious left hook. From then
on it was a thrilling fight with both girls taking and giving
heavy punishment. However, there were no further knockdowns.

The two had fought previously on October 13, 2012, in
Southhampton, Bermuda, where they were fighting for the vacant
WBC Middleweight belt and the WBA Middleweight belt. In
that fight, it ended in a 10-round majority draw.
At the weigh-in yesterday, supervisors conducting the
weigh-in were Bismarck Morales of the WBC and Victor Richmond of
the Bermuda Boxing Commission.
