Boxing Action "Worldwide" this Weekend!

(FEB 12) WBAN would like to give a rundown as to what fights are scheduled to take place "worldwide".  If the boxing community has more to add or changes to this listing of upcoming fights on February 15th, 16th, and 17th.


FRIDAY - FEBRUARY 15

On Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Casino, in Uncasville, Connecticut, welterweight Addy Irizarry will be taking on Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes in an eight rounder. The card is promoted by Joe DeGuardia, and WBAN is hoping that the female bout will be televised on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights.

At the El Forum, in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, Selene Lopez, 1-0-0, of Mexico, will be fighting Paloma Lopez, 0-1-1, of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico. This is either a junior bantamweight or bantamweight bout.

We also have a four-rounder scheduled at the Club Defensores de Villa Lujan, in San Miguel, Tucuman, Argentina, and promoted by Enzo Romero, Cecilia Mena is scheduled to fight a four-rounder in the featherweight division. No opponent has been listed at this time.

SATURDAY - FEBRUARY 16

At the Gran Arena del Cibao, Santiago de los Caballeros, in the Dominican Republic, there will be two female bouts on card. IBF World champion Amanda Serrano will be fighting for two featherweight world titles (WIBA/UBF), in ten rounds against Wanda Pena Ozuna; and in a middleweight six rounder, Yahaira Hernandez will face Luisa Maria Romero.

At the Club Paraná, in San Nicolas, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Monica Galeano, 3-3-3, of Buenos Aires, will fight light welterweight Victorina Britez, 3-2-1(1KO), of Lambare, Paraguay, are scheduled to fight four rounds

In the Philippines, there is a four-rounder on the undercard featuring a light flyweight bout with Jessebelle Pagaduan vs. Rose Cruz.

In Epernay, France, a flyweight eight rounder is scheduled with undefeated flyweight Amira Hamzaoui, 7-0-0 (4KO), Marne, France, 8- vs. Isabelle Leonardi, 8-11-2 (3kO), of Paris, France.

In Montevideo, Uruguay, at the Club Colon, Celeste Peralta, 1-0-0, is scheduled to fight four rounds against Jennifer Faccio, 3-4-0 (1KO).

In Pionki, Poland, Ewa Piatkowska, making her pro debut is scheduled to fight a four-rounder. Unknown who her opponent is at this time.

At the Parque Naciones Unidas, Caracas, Venezuela, featherweight Ana Lozano, 4-0-0 (3KO), of Tachira, Venezuela, will face Paulina Cordona, 20-14-5 (8KO), Barranquilla, Colombia. Another female bout on the card will feature Ana Fernandez, 14-6-1 (10KO), vs. Olga Julio, 14-13-1 (9KO). Both of these female bouts are scheduled for 10 rounds.

SUNDAY - FEBRUARY 17

At the Arena, Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, Sara Schnell will be fighting a four-rounder with a TBD opponent. Also, Steffi Schuenke, pro debut, will fight a four-round bout against Aniko Levai.

Lastly....at the Coca-Cola Center, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sheena Chaney, 0-3-0, will be fighting pro debuter Sara Maloy in the super featherweight division.
