WBAN has announced formative
steps towards establishing an INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S BOXING HALL
OF FAME. A IWBHF website will be designed for Facebook in the
near future.

To date, IWBHF board members include: Tokyo Rosenthal, Alex "The Bronx
Bomber" Ramos, Krysti Rosario, Bernie McCoy, Malissa Smith,
Michael O'Neill, Rick McLean, and myself.
The initial IWBHF induction
ceremony is currently scheduled for July, 2014 in Ft.
Lauderdale, FL, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, in conjunction with
the
2014 Women's
National Golden Gloves.
Such recognition of the sport of
female boxing and those who have contributed to the sport's
emergence and growth, over the years, has been long overdue and
WBAN is proud and privileged to take the lead in recognizing and
honoring those athletes and figures in the boxing community who
have distinguished themselves in and out of the ring during the
present history of the sport.
The International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame [IWBHF]
is to honor the pro
female boxers (retired), and men and women who work outside the
ring that have significantly attributed to the promotion and development of the sport, and by
their participation in the sport and/or contributors, and by the
example of their lives, merit acknowledgment by all individuals
involved in the sport of boxing.
The primary mission of the IWBHF will be call honorary attention
to those professional female boxers (now retired) along with men
and women whose contributions to the sport and it's athletes,
from outside the ring, have been instrumental in growing female
boxing.
The non-boxer inductees will be individuals who, in the opinion
of the IWBHF board, have distinguished themselves through
extraordinary efforts in the promotion and development of female
boxing by providing competitive opportunities for female boxers
in the ring and/or providing increased awareness and positive
exposure for female boxing and it's athletes within the sporting
public.
CATEGORIES:
Retired Female Boxers- must be retired from active
professional fighting for five years. No currently active female
boxer will be eligible unless granted a waiver approved by the
IWBHF board. **
Pioneer Female Boxers-
A Pioneer/Past boxer will be any fighter who fought in the
ring prior to 1990.
Non-Participants/Professional Level- photographer
(singular). place judge (lower case) next to referee (continue
with one sentence) "who has spent a minimum of ten years
involved with and/or in support of female boxing."**

Waiver: the board reserves the option to waive the five
year retirement restriction, on a case/case basis. Such a waiver
will require a majority vote of the board.
The International Women's Boxing
Hall of Fame is WORLDWIDE in scope.
For our Yearly Inductees with the IWBHF
The Hall of Fame Inductees will receive a beautiful plaque in
recognition of their contributions in the sport.
The IWBHF will hold a dinner to have the inductees in attendance
to celebrate their induction. Inductees unable to attend
will receive their plaque by mail.
On the IWBHF website there will be a permanent pictorial and
written history of each inductee along with various memorabilia
that may be available from the WBAN achieve.
