(APR 11) Last night at Korakuen
Hall, in Tokyo, Japan,
Naoko Yamaguchi won over Loredana Piazza from Italy by TKO.
Piazza went to the canvas in the third round, the fourth round
(x2) and the seventh round. Piazza's corner threw in the
towel after her fourth down. Yamaguchi defended her WBA
super flyweight (115lb) title.
In the semi-final of this
event, Tomoko Kawanishi TKOed the OPBF super flyweight
champion Noriko Tsunoda. Kawanishi knocked Tsunoda down four
times, and the referee stopped the bout in the fourth round.
Kawanishi became the new OPBF super flyweight champion.
