(MAY 3) Tonight there is a night
of Olympic-style boxing to raise money for the Leukemia/Lymphoma
society. It will be held at the
Manfredo's Gym, 179 Conant St, Pawtucket RI, 7pm.
Raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Dena
Paolino, Founder and CEO of Striking Beauties Boxing Gym for
Women is hosting a USA Boxing-sanctioned fight show. Nine bouts
between local boxers are scheduled, including three female
matches, coming with some impressive pedigrees:
Melanie Costa, 2010 national PAL bronze medal, 2010-11 NE Pal
champion, 2011 NE champion, 2012 US National bronze medal 2012
NE golden glove champion & 2013 National Golden Glove Champion
will go up against Amanda Pavone, who took 2nd Place National
championships 2012, 2nd place Nat'l Golden Gloves, 1st Place
National PAL tournament, 3rd place National US Championships in
2013.
Melissa Roberts,2005, 2006 and 2009 USA Boxing National Champ.
2x Women's National Gold Glove Champ and 1x National P.A.L
Champ. She is ranked third in the country after Nationals. will
battle Rashida Ellis, junior olympics champion 2010 and 2011 PAL
nationals 2012 usa championships 2013 and Jessica Gravel v
Alicia Roane, both their second bouts.
