Women's Boxing Action Worldwide This Weekend!

(JULY 11) On Friday night's action, at the Korakuen Hall, in Tokyo, Japan, light flyweight Naoko Shibata, 9-3-0 (3KO), will be fighting Mika Oda, 5-6-1 (1KO), in an eight-rounder for a OPBF light flyweight title.  

In Colonia, Uruguay, at the Club Plaza Colonia, light weltherweight Katia Alvarino, 5-1-0 (3kO), will face Victorina Britez, 3-3-2 (1KO). The two will fight a six-rounder.

Also, on Friday, at the A La Carte Event Pavilion, Tampa, Florida, Flyweight Noemi Bosques, 1-0-1, will be facing Monica Flores, 3-0, in a four-round bout.  The weigh-in will be held today at 5:00 p.m. at the Pinellas Park Winghouse.  Noemi said, "Come watch the face offs, before tomorrow nights wars!"

On Saturday night.....In Tucuman, Argentina, at the Club Defensores de Villa Lujan, there is a high-profile title bout between Melissa Hernandez, 18-4-3 (6KO), vs. Marcela Acuna, 38-6-1 (17KO). The two will be mixing up for a featherweight "Interim" WBO title.

There are two other female bouts on the undercard, featuring Cecilia Sofia, 4-1-0 (3KO), vs. Alejandra Soledad Morales, 0-6-1 (ouch), hoping Morales can bring more to the ring than what her boxing record has demonstrated so far....In a super flyweight four round bout between Guadalupe Maria Antonia Moldonado and Vanesa Lorena Taborda.

In another high-profile title bout, at the Centro de Convenciones, Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, Riyo Togo, 10-4-1 (9KO), will defend her WBC super Flyweight title against Mariana Juarez, 36-7-3 (16KO), who just lost to Togo by a first round TKO on April 29, 2013.

In Tijuana, Mexico, at the Casino Hipodromo Agua Caliente, Maureen Shea, 20-2-0 (11KO), will take on Silvia Jimenez in a four-rounder in the featherweight division.

In Nairobi, Kenya, a featherweight eight rounder between Fatuma Zarika and Flora Malecela.

At the Coliseo Miguel Grau, Callao, Peru, super bantamweight Linda Laura Lecca, 6-0-0 (1KO) will fight Liliana Palmera, 21-10-3 (15KO).
