(DEC 6) Today (Time Zone in
Germany), at the Brandenburg Halle in Frankfurt/Oder, Germany
and live on free web stream worldwide, and televised by SAT 1 in
Germany, World Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens' World Champions
Ramona Kuehne and Christina Hammer successfully defended their
Titles.
Super Featherweight World
Champion Kuehne put on a convincing performance as she beat old
foe Renata Domsodi from Hungary.
Their original encounter, in January 2012, ended inconclusively
when Domsodi suffered a bad cut, resulting in Kuehne winning by
TKO in round eight. This time there would be no questions
afterwards as to who is better of the two.
After an even first round, Kuehne started to take over in round
two and from round four it was one-way traffic as a sharp and
determined champion punished the game but out-gunned Hungarian.
In round six referee Paul Thomas had seen enough and waved the
fight off when Domsodi continued to take punches without firing
anything back. The time was 1:50.
In the co-feature, Christina
Hammer outclassing Mexico’s Carmen Garcia to retain her WBF
world title for the sixth time. Hammer took control from the
start and it was quickly clear that the challenger was in over
her head, as the champion landed almost at will.
Midway through the first round, Hammer forced Garcia to the
ropes and unleashed a quick flurry of punches, many of which
connected, and after 1:42 of the round referee Ingo Barrabas
jumped in to save Garcia.
Only 23, Hammer now holds an undefeated ledger of 16-0 (8),
while Garcia (19) travels back to Mexico at 10-3 (5).
With few challenges left at Middleweight at the moment, Hammer
could, for the right fight, be headed back up to Super
Middleweight, where she won and relinquished the WBF World title
earlier this year.
The Kuehne vs. Domsodi, Hammer vs. Garcia WBF World Championship
doubleheader was promoted by SES Boxing.
