(DEC 6) Last night at the
Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California, Lissette
Medel, 129, 9-1-1, of Maywood, California, fought in her first
world title bout, when she faced hard challenger Melisenda
Perez, 133, 8-5-1, of Kansas City, Missouri, for the vacant
super featherweight IFBA world title.
In this
action-packed bout, Medel won the belt by a unanimous decision,
with scores from the judges of 93-97, 93-97, and 93-97 on all
cards.

and supervisor of the IFBA was Judy Kulis. Kulis said,
“This is a great way to close out IFBA’s tremendous 2013. "
