(JUNE 18) On Saturday, June 21,
2014, at the Trend Eventhotel Pyramide in Vienna, Austria,
Box-Team Vienna will stage a big show headlined by two WBF title
fights involving local attraction Eva Voraberger and Germany’s
Oezlem Sahin in separate bouts against Thai opponents.
In the main event, WBF Women's Intercontinental Flyweight
Champion Voraberger, 17-3 (9), will move up in weight to fight
Nonggift Onesongchaigym, 6-1-1 (1), for the WBF World Super
Flyweight title, [And the vacant WIBF super flyweight title]
recently vacated when Raja Amasheh dropped down to flyweight to
win her second WBF world championship.
This will be the second world title-attempt for Voraberger (24),
who lost a close decision to Amasheh in September of last year.
Three months later she captured the Intercontinental Flyweight
crown with a first round knockout of Serbian Fleis Djendji.
In the chief support, undefeated 37-year-old Turkish-born Oezlem
Sahin, 17-0-1 (5), will square off with former two-time world
title-challenger Buangern Onesongchaigym, 11-6-1 (2), for the
vacant WBF Women's Intercontinental Strawweight title.
21-year-old Buangern, who lost spirited world championship
challenges in South Korea and Japan, is clearly the biggest test
for Sahin since she defeated future European champion Corina
Carlescu on home ground in Baden-Wurttemberg in July 2011.
Also on the six fight bill will be undefeated reigning WBF
International Welterweight Champion Laszlo Toth, 17-0-1 (13),
taking on Polish trial-horse Arek Malek in an eight-round
non-title fight.
