(MAY 22)
First, PGP would like to thank WBAN and the many athletes and
supporters that support the sport and have allowed promotional
boxing firms like PGP to be a part of it.
PGP has begun a good faith effort at giving female boxers
continuous opportunities to compete on its fight cards. To bring
this to fruition, PGP signed multiple Female World Boxing
Champion Melissa Hernandez and is in communication with several
other female boxers with the endeavor to add 3 female bouts, by
year's end, to its fight nights. Melissa Hernandez is scheduled
to compete against Stacey Reile on June 12, 2015, in Jamaica,
Queens, NY (to be Confirmed), in an independent promotional
event.
PGP has always conducted itself with the utmost integrity,
arduously working to put on modest boxing events where up and
coming fighters, male and female, get the opportunity to
compete. And as many know, the sport of Women's Boxing isn't as
lucrative as its counterpart and at times, the challenges these
female boxers face, deprives them of the opportunities to
compete continuously.
"There must exist a sense of respect and integrity among
boxing's colleagues and fighters. We are responsible for keeping
the sport alive. Opportunities on national soil for our U.S.
female fighters is scarce. Let's find a way of working together
for the betterment of the sport, as a whole. PGP looks to be a
positive part of the evolutionary movement going on right now
within Women's Boxing together with those that have a positive
approach toward its success." Mercedes Vasquez, President PGP
