(MAY 254)  According to 'El Diario Jornada,' Soledad Matthysse will unify the WBA and WBC Female Featherweight titles, on July 31, 2015, in Trelew with Canadian Jelena Mrdjenovich.

It would seem that everything is prepare for Soledad Matthysse to unify the World Boxing Association (WBA) Featherweight crown against Canadian Jelena Mrdjenovich in Trelew. The event is to be held at the Numèro Uno gym, but the municipal is yet to confirm.

The "Itaka" has a portion of the WBA featherweight title and on Saturday May 9, 2015, in the town of Sarmiento she outpointed the Bolivian based Lizbeth Crespo in Puerto Madryn, Lizbeth Crespo in an 8 round no-title bout. Meanwhile Mrdjenovich is the WBC Female Champion and the fight would be to unify WBC and WBA belts. The opponent was confirmed through "Time Sports TV" which airs on Channel 3.

Previously, Matthysse's opponent was to be the Dominican Dahiana Santana, who is also WBA Female Featherweight World Champion since June 29, 2014, when she defeated by a unanimous decision Colombian Elena Bravo. Dahiana Santana is the first Dominican Female boxer to win two world belts in two different bodies and had been IBF king. She defeated Trelewense Claudia Lopez, on April 27, 2013 at an event held at Velez Sarsfield where "Maravilla" Martinez will face Martin Murray in his next appearance in Argentina.

Difficult but not impossible!

Jelena Mrdjenovich not only hits but collects belts. She's a six time world champion in three different categories: reigned in super featherweight WBC and International Boxing Federation Women; also in lightweight and featherweight for the WIBF and 2 times for the WBC.

At 32 years old, she has a record of 35-9-1, with 19 KO's. She lives in Edmonton, Canada where she operates a hotel and restaurant. She's 5'5" tall and, had lost 2 times to former world champion Ann Saccurato, the American who fought Erica Farias in Comodoro in 2011.
