(MAY 29) Unified Women's World
Featherweight Champion Elin “The Machine” Tissen puts everything
on the line when she defends against Hungarian underdog
Gabriella Busa on Saturday June 6 at the Spielbank Hohensyburg
in Dortmund, Germany.
After winning the GBU and WIBF world titles in 2010-2011, Tissen
was declared the Unified Women"s World champion when the World
Boxing Federation (WBF) launched its cooperation with the WIBF
and GBU last March, and merged the three championships into the
most prestigious title in female boxing.
After nine years as a professional, 28-year old Tissen is 18-2
(6), and will be entering her twelfth championship fight against
the two years younger Busa, who is a late replacement stepping
in for Bosnian Irma Balijagic Adler to fight for her first
title.
Busa, who actually has so far never boxed professionally in her
native Hungary, only brings a 3-2 (1) pro ledger, but was an
accomplished amateur and proved her worth when she stopped
former world title-challenger Bettina Granasi in three rounds in
her most recent outing.
Her two defeats were on points against good opposition, one of
them in Serbia against undefeated Nina Stojanovic who is herself
challenging a Unified World title on May 30, and Busa believes
she can capitalize on this great opportunity and pull the big
upset in Dortmund.
Billed as Hohensyburger Boxnacht, the Elina Tissen vs. Gabriela
Busa Unified Womens World Featherweight title fight will be
promoted by MiBo Boxpromotion.
