(JUNE 6)
An interesting twist of fate, veteran female Super Lightweight
and former WBC Female Silver Welterweight Champion, Victoria
Cisneros stepped in to vie for the WBC Super Welterweight Crown
against current World Champion Mikalea "Destiny" Lauren of
Sweden, after WBO Super Welterweight Champion Hanna Gabriel
pulled out of the unification bout because the WBO and Gabriel
could not come to terms with which organization (WBC or WBO)
would have Cisneros, originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, dubbed "La
Reina de Guerra," Queen of War, has stepped into the ring with 9
former or current World champions, among them, reigning
undisputed Female Welterweight Champion Cecilia Braekhus, Holly
Holm, Chevelle Hallback, Melissa Hernandez, Ann Marie Saccurato,
just to name a few...
And tonight at 7:00pm local time (Stockholm, Sweden), 1pm EST,
10am PST, "La Reina de Guerra" will once again face another
world Champion in Mikaela Lauren. Both fighters have passed
there physicals and are ready for battle.
Both fighters have been in world title bouts before and know
exactly what each must do to triumph. For Mikaela Lauren, this
title defense, on a weekend like this one, where Sweden
celebrates its National Swedish Day, win is imoerative. For
Cisneros, it is a weight class (154lbs), she has never competed
in and is set to "surprise the champ", Cisneros said.
