JUNE 24) With an impressive track
record in amateur boxing of over 90 fighting, Sulem Urbina now
begins preparation for her professional debut on July 30th 2016
led by the company Zanfer Promotions, and joins Box Azteca, La
Casa del Boxing Sulem Urbina signs with Zanfer Promotions.
Sulem Urbina promised her deceased brother that she would
represent Mexico in the 2016 Rio Olympics and then become a
World Champion in professional boxing.
The first promise was on track to
be achieved, but sadly enough the interests of the executives
who run the Mexican Boxing Federation prevented that dream from
becoming reality two months ago. After much frustration and
disappointment, Urbina has recovered and has promised to come
back stronger in the next chapter of her life, as she is to
debut in professional boxing. Sulem promises to deliver to her
brother, Alexis Urbina, (whom was assaulted and murdered in 2013
in Phoenix, AZ) the World Championship and deliver it to his
grave sight.
"My brother was part of Team USA's Youth National Team at the
141lbs weight division, an elite athlete. Criminals who entered
the house to steal my parents most senseless belongings took his
life. Life has been very difficult and it has cost me a lot of
emotional distress to continue getting up in the morning to
continue the memory of Alexis, but essentially he has motivated
me to continue in the sport of boxing and fulfill the goals that
drew us both to becoming world champions. Alexis will always be
my spirit and strength!" said the beautiful Sonoran, who had an
impressive amateur career of 96 fights with many international
championships wins, While participating in world tournament
events.
Urbina, 25 years old, born in Hermosillo, Sonora and
living in Phoenix, Arizona signed a very powerful promotional
contract with Zanfer Promotions, the best boxing promotions
company of all of Latin America, Fernando Beltran Rendon
Promoter/CEO.
"I had received many offers from promoters in both the United
States and Mexico, but I noticed that Zanfer and Fernando
Beltran give women's boxing the highest priority. My team and I
felt that Zanfer Promotionsis was the best option to develop my
career and get me the opportunity for a world title," said
Urbina, who last weekend was in Tijuana with her husband Andrews
Soto, and Alejandro Brito her representative. They met with
Fernando Beltran to negotiate and sign the multi year contract
with Zanfer Promotions.
"Its an honor and a great motivation that Sulem has decided to
put her talents in our company and with Box Azteca, we have
followed her amateur career and she is an extraordinary boxer
with incredible boxing potential, and strong personality. Sulem
will be a huge star in boxing and of course a world champion!"
said Fernando Beltran.
