(MAR 25) Last night in
Athens, Greece, history was made by being the first World title
fight in the countries history. Christina “Black Mamba” Linardatou,
137¾, of Greece, now 11-1-0 (6KO), won by a sixth round
TKO over knocking Kandi Wyatt, 138, of Canada, down three
times in the sixth round, of a scheduled ten round bout.
Wyatt suffered her first loss as
a professional boxer, and is now 8-1-0 (3KO). The two were
fighting for the vacant WBO 140 lb. world title.
Brian Cohen of Team
Empire Boxing said after the fight, "I want to say that Kandi
Krush has nothing to be ashamed of. She showed true skill and
heart. She is an amazing boxer and a beautiful person. Boxing is
not like any sport out there. One punch can change the whole
trajectory of a fight and unfortunately that’s what happened. Up
until that point Kandi was doing superb. You will be back and
one day be a world champion. You are really that good. Much
respect to your team."
