(JUNE 26) On Saturday, June 24th, it was a big night of World Boxing Federation (WBF) championship boxing, with title fights taking place in Alfdorf, Germany and Basel, Switzerland, with Gashi Promotion presenting a WBF double-header, includinglegendary former WBF World Light Heavyweight champion Roy Jones Jr. in attendance at the Sporthalle.

WBF Women's World Super Welterweight titlist Ema Kozin retained her crown by scoring a unanimous decision over Timea Belik from Hungary.  Judges Rosario Triolo, Alessandro Commercio and Thomas Laschuk all scored it the same, 100 – 90, giving the defending champion every round on her way to a dominating victory.

Slovenian Southpaw Kozin, who is also the WBF World champion at Super Middleweight and a former WBF World Middleweight champion, improved her pro ledger to 23-1-1 (12). Belik, losing her second world title opportunity, is now 7-9 (3).

In the second championship contest of the evening, Ikram Kerwat became the new WBF Women's World Welterweight champion when she decisioned former WBA and IBF world champion Claudia Andrea Lopez from Argentina.

After a competitive fight, judges Thomas Laschuk and Alessandro Commercio both scored the fight 96-94, while judge Rosario Triolo scored it 97-93, all for Kerwat.

Trained by Roy Jones Jr., Kerwat (39) improved her professional record to 13-3 (5). Lopez (43) falls to 26-15 (6).

At the Airporthotel Basel, reigning WBF Intercontinental Heavyweight champion Arnold “The Cobra” Gjergjaj successfully defended his title for the first time, stopping Latvian Kristaps Zutis.

Gjergjaj, who had won the title last March, proved a level above the otherwise game Kristaps, and got the victory in the fourth round.

Now 36-3 (27) since turning pro in 2009, the Kosovo-born Gjergjaj could be a prime candidate to fight for the WBF World Heavyweight title in the near future. Kristaps falls to 7-4-2 (7).
