(MAY 24) Last night at the
Fontainebleau Las Vegas, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Skye Nicolson,
125, of Queensland, Australia, won the Vacant WBC Featherweight
World title over Sarah Mahfoud, 125 ½, of Copenhagan, Denmark.
The final judges scores were 100-90, 100-90, and 91-99. Nicolson
is now undefeated with a 10-0-0 (1KO), and Mahfoud is now 14-2-0
(3KO).
As reported by the media, Nicolson fought a near perfect fight
against Mahfoud.
Nicolson said in a post fight interview the following: "She was
awkward, she breaks the space very well, so I found myself
falling in a little bit when I was trying to attack, but I knew
what I had to do to win and that's what I did.”
Nicolson said that her next plan in boxing would be to set up a
fight with Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano, in a 12-rounder at
three minutes per round.
Serrano is a formidable opponent, holding multiple world titles
in different weight divisions. A matchup between Nicolson and
Serrano would undoubtedly be an exciting clash of two skilled
fighters.
Nicolson, however, remains confident in her abilities and
believes that with the right strategy and preparation, she can
come out victorious against Serrano. She understands the
challenge that lies ahead but is determined to prove herself on
the international stage.
With her impressive win over Mahfoud and her undefeated record,
Nicolson has undoubtedly caught the attention of boxing fans and
critics alike. A potential showdown with Serrano would not only
showcase her skills but also serve as a test of her true
championship potential.
