Tonight, at the Ameristar Casino, in Kansas City, Missouri,
Chevelle Hallback won by TKO in the second round, but NOT
without a fight by Kim Colbert! In what was called
a fierce battle between these two, the fight had a lot of
action. Colbert stunned Hallback in the second round, and
knocked her down to the canvas, with Hallback taking an eight
count! Well, the gloves were off 'so to speak' after that
little episode and Hallback went after Colbert with a "Fist of
Steel". During that time, Colbert landed a couple of bombs with
a left hook, but then she began to take some heavy hits by
Hallback, and the ref stopped the fight. The crowd booed
at the early stoppage because Colbert was still returning some
fire. According to WBAN's insider, after the fight,
Colbert took a punch at Hallback, and the fight was on again
outside the ring. Security was called to stop the
donnybrook. WBAN's insider said that Colbert was "fearless"
against her much more experienced opponent.

Goodson's Set to make comeback
by Team Goodson
January 10, 2005 |
|
(JAN 10) Team Goodson wrote an open
letter to talk about Sarah Goodson's boxing career, they said
the following....
"Sarah "The Thrilla from Manila" Goodson is making her
come back. She is ready to get the shots that others have
been getting; she has got title shots before but never
prepared like a champ so she only twice achieved winning any of
the belts (WEBA and a four round mid America title fight against
Deanna Nance, not big titles at all). But after a little
time off she realizes that she wants to do more, before hanging
them up! And she wants to fight one of the champions
out there but only if she gets to prepare like the other girls
do not just a week or two notice. She believes that with some
notice that she never has been giving she would be able to be a
name to remember in women's boxing ! So after a few tune up
fights she would like to fight, The new Korean champion Juhee
Kim or maybe Vaia Zaganas, and if given this chance
she promises to shock the world! Like fellow Philippino fighter
Manny Pacquiao, when Sarah went back to the Philippines this
last April to visit her family, all the people in her old
neighborhood were so proud of her for being the first full
blooded Philippino female boxer.....So now her new goal is to be
the first female world champion from her country. So look
to see a new "Thrila from Manila " Not just a tough hard hitter,
but a fighter who will fight and train like a champion! No
excuses this time!"
